In celebration of winter and to mark the last week of the exhibition Dirt Plug, we made a pair of snow figures on the roof of the gallery, Annas and Daniels, inspired by Rosemary Mayer’s Snow People, drawings of which are on view in the exhibition.
Daniels and Annas were made by Jacksun Bein, Lucas Odahara, Pat Oleszko, David Pagliarulo, and James Walsh (from the Estate of Rosemary Mayer).
The names are homages to Mayer and the Snow People in the exhibition. Mayer selected the names for her 16 figures from the most common historical names in the town of Lenox, Massachusetts. With a Daniel also in the exhibition (Daniel Rampulla), we see these names as an homage to all artists named Daniel and Anna.
A huge thank you to Marie Warsh and the Estate of Rosemary Mayer for allowing us to do this.
